Worried about energy loss through  your Sun Tunnel Skylight?

The problems associated with heat  transfer are a concern for any skylight buyer who lives in a region like New England or the Midwest where the seasons change from year-to-year. Even though  The Sun Tunnel is very energy efficient and includes an Insulated Ceiling Ring & Dual Diffuser that practically eliminates heat loss during colder weather.

How Does It  Work?

The Insulated Ceiling Ring and Dual  Diffuser mounts into the Sun Tunnel's Ceiling Frame in just minutes to help  eliminate heat transfer problems altogether. It's comprised of three parts:the rubber gasket that seals the space inside The Sun Tunnel; the 3/32" clear  diffuser fits in the top groove of the gasket to let sunlight through and  provide another layer of insulation; and the 1/8" prismatic diffuser fits in the  bottom groove to gently distribute the sunlight as it enters the  room.

The results speak for themselves! Laboratory Tests to  establish "R"and "U" Values prove its effectiveness (copies of official test reports available upon request). For additional insulation value, the tubing can  be wrapped with some form of fiberglass insulation material (rolled insulation,  water heater blanket, etc.) Wherever you live...there's a Sun Tunnel solution to  weather.

Installation

1. Insert the two Diffuser Panels into the Gasket as per the diagram.
2. Flex the complete assembly and pass through the ceiling  frame opening.
3. Rest the diffuser assembly on top of the ceiling frame  ring.
4. Raise one side of the assembly up and let the lower side of  the gasket lip over the inside edge of the ceiling frame .
5. Pull down the lower ball section of the gasket until you  have worked it around the entire perimeter of the ceiling frame.
